About The Project

Part 1 of the video is a power-up effects demonstration. The first power-up is a health increase. The second power-up is a speed increase. The third and final power-up is an extra life.

Part 2 of the video demonstrates clickable objects within the game. The first object is a simple button press. The second object is a hand scanner. The final object is a lever.

Part 3 shows the ambience and sound effects of the physical location of the game. The game is set within a cave-like structure with a lava river flowing through. This is evident with the sounds chosen. Notice the low rumbling in regards to the ambience and the bubbling of the lava as it flows through the cave.

Part 4 demonstrates the different sound effects with multiple portals and a teleport. The first portal is a low metallic and slightly rumbles. The second portal uses sounds to give the illusion that the player is being carried upward, as shown with the rays of lights moving upwards. The final portal looks like a black hole and as such, appears to be whirling. Within the portal, debris can be heard as it whirls around the portal. The teleport sound gives the illusion that the player rematerializes and as the wave moves around the players, so does the sound.

Part 5 shows the ability of the weapon used in the game and the explosion it causes. The sounds chosen give the illusion the weapon is a pulse-like weapon. You can hear a loud thump in the beginning to symbolize the explosive power of the weapon. You can also hear a reload effects as this is a single-shot weapon and needs to be reloaded after every shot.
